Eat lots of anti-inflammatory foods*<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Supplement with natural anti-inflammatories such as tart cherry juice &amp; turmeric<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Consume a carbohydrate &amp; electrolyte drink during training sessions<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Taurine pre-training can help prevent muscle &#8216;pumps&#8217; which restrict grip-strength<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Post training consume carbohydrates, protein &amp; consider creatine as a supplement<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Consume lots of organic fruits &amp; vegetables<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Salmon Roe &amp; Krill oil is great for brain health<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Do Not consume alcohol after sparring or a fight &#8211; this could increase brain damage<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Meat is expensive &#8211; consider substituting with eggs &amp; vegan protein sources like tofu &amp; hemp<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Supplements are expensive. Stick with unflavoured &#8216;bulk&#8217; protein powders &amp; add fruit<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>MyProtein &amp; Bulkpowders in the UK are cheap if you look for homepage deals (there are lots of deals each week)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Pre-packaged meals &amp; snacks are expensive. For example a protein bar can cost around $3 &#8211; just make your own with oats, fruit and peanut butter<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">*Don&#8217;t consume immediately after a strength training session. Anti-inflammatory foods can interfere with the adaptation to resistance training.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-css-opacity\" \/>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If you are training for MMA, you will no doubt be expending a huge amount of calories.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You can work out your approximate calorie requirements per day by doing the following:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Start by working out your Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR)&nbsp;<a rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"http:\/\/www.bmi-calculator.net\/bmr-calculator\/\" target=\"_blank\">here<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li> Then use the Harris-Benedict Formula, to work out your calorie requirements, based on your physical activity levels:<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li> If you exercise 1-3 days a week, x your BMR by 1.375<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li> 3-5 days a week BMR x 1.55<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li> 6-7 days a week BMR x 1.725<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li> if you have a physical job and train most days, BMR x 1.9<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I\u2019m 5ft 10, 200lbs and train about 4 times a week. Use an hour or so after training if possible, especially if you&#8217;ve been sparring.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Healthy Anti Inflammatories<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Turmeric with black pepper &#8211; or Meriva Curcumin if you have lots of money<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Ginger (organic)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Tart cherry juice<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Boswellia<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">High EPA Fish Oil or Omega 3 supplement<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Supplements to Improve Endurance<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Food grade baking soda<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Beta Alanine<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Taurine is good for preventing forearm muscle pumps.
