I only work 4 days a week now but the 3 days off are the hardest!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Anyway, moaning over, here&#8217;s some solutions that I&#8217;ve found<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">CONSULT A DOCTOR BEFORE TAKING ANY SUPPLEMENTS<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<span class=\"embed-youtube\" style=\"text-align:center; display: block;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" class=\"youtube-player\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/PrEorNzU2CY?version=3&#038;rel=1&#038;showsearch=0&#038;showinfo=1&#038;iv_load_policy=1&#038;fs=1&#038;hl=en-GB&#038;autohide=2&#038;wmode=transparent\" allowfullscreen=\"true\" style=\"border:0;\" sandbox=\"allow-scripts allow-same-origin allow-popups allow-presentation allow-popups-to-escape-sandbox\"><\/iframe><\/span>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"foundation-of-healthy-foods\"><strong>Foundation of Healthy Foods<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Eat lots of vegetables &#8211; ensure you have a good foundation of nutrition before taking supplements. Avoid inflammatory foods such as sugar and vegetable oils. If you don&#8217;t have time to prepare lots of healthy foods, then consider organic &#8220;greens&#8221; powders such as Athletic Greens or a kale and spirulina powder. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"gut-health\"><strong>Gut Health<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Gut health and the microbiome should also be optimised before taking supplements. Glutamine and collagen are great for protecting the gut lining and reducing inflammation. Fermented foods are great for optimising the microbiome, as is pomegranate juice (<a href=\"https:\/\/pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/26051169\/\">study here<\/a>)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"supplements-to-boost-energy-levels\"><strong>Supplements to Boost Energy Levels<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"improve-your-sleep\"><strong>Improve Your Sleep<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Magnesium Glycinate<\/strong> &#8211; I use Doctor&#8217;s Best brand. Tablets are massive but seems to be the only one that helps me sleep<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Glycine <\/strong>&#8211; I use Bulkpowders version. Great for sleep and relaxation<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>5 HTP <\/strong>&#8211; great for sleep and weird dreams. Go easy though, can give you an upset stomach<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Phenibut <\/strong>&#8211; if I wake up in the night, I&#8217;ll sometimes take 500mg of phenibut. It helps promote deep sleep. Stick to once per week though, it&#8217;s addictive.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Dark chocolate and cacao nibs are great sources of magnesium.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"vitality\"><strong>Vitality<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Adaptogens <\/strong>can help boost resistance to stress, increase energy levels and help the immune system to function<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Rhodiola<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Cordyceps Mushrooms<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Holy Basil<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Ginseng<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Adaptogens are a good place to start, after blood tests to rule out iron deficiency etc<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Adaptogens have a range of benefits and are herbs and plants rather than supplements.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Get some organic adaptogens from a reputable brand,  the quality varies greatly between different suppliers. Reddit is generally a good place to get further info. Just Google the name of a herb and stick &#8220;reddit&#8221; at the end of your search.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"> <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"nootropics\"><strong>Nootropics<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Nootropics are anything that boost cognitive functioning<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">These include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Choline<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Acetyl-L-Carnitine (allows improves fertility)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">PQQ<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Racetams (usually stacked with a choline source like citicholine or alpha GPC)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">L-Theanine<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Noopept<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You can buy most nootropics from Amazon or ebay. Niacin is also used to treat depression. For more information on <a href=\"https:\/\/blackbeltwhitehat.com\/2021\/09\/15\/niacin-joe-rogan-and-depression-and-recovery-from-exercise\/\">niacin please see my blog post<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"holistic-energy-boosts\"><strong>Holistic Energy Boosts<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Looking upwards!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Looking up is also said to increase energy levels, whereas looking down decreases them. So don&#8217;t look down at your computer monitor all day, make sure it&#8217;s level or above your eye line.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Rapid breathing will increase energy levels, as will exercise <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Cold water immersion is great and pretty much free. It can increase noradrenaline and dopamine levels by over 250% for up to 3 hours. It can also reduce inflammation dramatically.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"consult-your-doctor-before-taking-any-supplements\">Consult your doctor before taking any supplements<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Don&#8217;t take all of them in one go! I honestly haven&#8217;t done either, but I&#8217;ve just read Ben greenfield book &#8220;Boundless&#8221; which talks about microdosing quite a bit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">my current regime for energy is:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">PQQ Energy &#8211; contains pqq and acetyl l carnitine <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">coq10 and citicholine<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I&#8217;ll sometimes take noopept if I&#8217;m feeling really tired.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I find these supplements very effective for both energy and treating mild anxiety and depression.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">there&#8217;s some good evidence behind acetyl l carnitine for treating depression. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I&#8217;m just about to try methylated blue, mainly because I keep getting chest infections but also because it&#8217;s supposed to be excellent for brain function and energy&#8230;I&#8217;ll let you know&#8230;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p
