{"id":12143,"date":"2021-03-15T18:58:00","date_gmt":"2021-03-15T18:58:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blackbeltwhitehat.com\/?p=12143"},"modified":"2025-04-14T09:35:48","modified_gmt":"2025-04-14T09:35:48","slug":"boxing-tips-for-beginners-from-home","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blackbeltwhitehat.com\/en\/2021\/03\/15\/boxing-tips-for-beginners-from-home\/","title":{"rendered":"Boxing Tips for Beginners (from home)"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I made a video about with some pointers when drilling and practising shadow boxing at home, during covid.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Whilst you can train for boxing at home without any equipment, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.networldsports.co.uk\/buyers-guides\/home-boxing-equipment\">home boxing equipment<\/a> including resistance bands, punch bags and reaction-&#8216;bags&#8217;, will make training a lot more fun!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Throw Boxing-Feints <\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Don&#8217;t pass out, instead twitch your shoulders as if you&#8217;re about to throw a punch. Practice shadow boxing, and &#8216;pretending&#8217; to throw punches, to keep your opponent guessing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Sometimes you just want to twitch your shoulder as if you are about to throw a punch, other times you want to extend one of your arms a little bit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">One of my favourite things to do, is throw a feint jab, and then immediately after the feint, throw my real jab.  L<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Don&#8217;t Set Yourself Before Throwing a Punch<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Don&#8217;t pause or set yourself, before throwing a punch.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Practice throwing when you are slightly off balance, when you&#8217;re still moving or stepping. For example, a jab-cross combination, could be called &#8220;2&#8221; and Jab, Cross, Hook combination could be called &#8220;3&#8221;.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">When you are throwing combinations, merge the punches into one movement. So instead of thinking &#8220;jab&#8221;, then &#8220;cross&#8221;, then &#8220;hook&#8221; &#8211; just think &#8220;3&#8221;.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Also, don&#8217;t wait for one punch to finish, before throwing the next punch. As soon as you have started to throw the jab, then the punch should follow as soon as the jab has begun, and then the hook should be throw as soon as the cross has started.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Merge the punches of a 3 punch combination into one movement, instead of 3 separate punches. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I made a video about with some pointers when drilling and practising shadow boxing at home, during covid.
