guru, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/careers\/2016\/sep\/08\/dont-wait-for-the-perfect-job-tailor-your-role-to-build-on-your-skills\" target=\"_blank\">Alex Guest<\/a>\u00a0he convinced me that the &#8220;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.bodybuilding.com\/fun\/meal-frequency-finding-the-body-comp-sweet-spot.html\" target=\"_blank\">eating every 3 hours<\/a>&#8221; protocol was in fact another great example of bodybuilding marketing b@llocks, and that <a href=\"http:\/\/blackbeltwhitehat.com\/diet-plans\/intermittent-fasting-diet-plan\/\" target=\"_blank\">intermittent fasting<\/a> is great for natural bodybuilders &#8211;\u00a0the ones that don&#8217;t take steroids and advertise sports supplements.<\/p>\n<p>Not that I have anything against people who take steroids, it&#8217;s just a bit misleading when they are\u00a0selling protein powder as if it will make you grow massive muscles overnight.<\/p>\n<p>Anyway, back to the weight loss, there are a few Intermittent Fasting protocols, but the one I used goes like this:<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Don&#8217;t eat anything between 8pm and 12pm<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>That&#8217;s pretty much it. \u00a0Start off with smaller fasts, say between 8pm and 7am, then build up slowly until you can manage the full 16 hours.<br \/>\nIt&#8217;s very difficult at first, I felt really faint the first time I attempted the full fast. \u00a0So decided to build it up instead.<\/p>\n<p>Try and eat food in its original state if possible. \u00a0If a packet has 25 ingredients on the back, then don&#8217;t eat it, especially if you don&#8217;t know what half the stuff on there is.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Lots of hot drinks <\/strong>is<strong> key!<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Get yourself a decent size flask or Thermos-mug, and have a drink instead of having a snack.<\/p>\n<p>Exercise is key if you want to build or maintain muscle mass whilst dieting.<\/p>\n<p>My regime is currently pretty restricted due to time constraints, but looks something like this:<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Resistance Training<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><strong>Monday<\/strong><br \/>\nBodyweight workout and kettlebells at home\/garden<\/p>\n<ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Bodyweight squats Tabata interval<\/li>\n<li>Strength band shoulder press &#8211; 2 sets of max reps<\/li>\n<li>Kettlebell clean and press 2 sets of 12 reps<\/li>\n<li>Spiderman press ups*<\/li>\n<li>Bulgarian Split Squats**<\/li>\n<li>Hip\/Glute raises on the sofa<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Wednesday<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"line-height:1.7;\">Gym workout<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Warm up<\/li>\n<li>Barbell Bench Press x 2 sets of max reps<\/li>\n<li>Chin ups x 2 sets of max reps (super slow chin ups with 2 second pause at top and bottom)<\/li>\n<li>Dummbell Bench press x 2 sets of max reps<\/li>\n<li>Lunges x 2 sets of 8 reps<\/li>\n<li>Medicine ball vertical throws 2 sets of 6 reps<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Saturday<\/strong><br \/>\nWrestling\/Jiu Jisu<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" didn&#8217;t want to especially lose weight at the time, but looking at how chubby my face was a few months ago, I&#8217;m glad that I have.<\/p>\n<p>For overall health and fitness, I think the
