Bands are also great for variable strength training. With the bench press for example, I am much stronger, at the top/end of the movement, than the bottom. This is the same for the vast majority of lifters and people in general, including fighters. Adding resistance bands (or chains) so that the resistance is greater at the top of the movement, is a great way to develop muscle mass as well as power for sports like Muay Thai.
